The Friendship Fire Company is professionally staffed by volunteers. Under the guidelines of the Office of State Fire Commisioner, the Friendship Fire Company is certified to the silver level. This means at the very least 75% of our active member are certified to the Firefighter 1 certification level or higher. We serve as the primary fire protection for the Englewood and Walnick Manor sections of Butler Township. The Friendship Fire Company also provides services under mutual aid agreements to other parts of Butler Township, Frackville Borough, Altamont section of West Mahanoy Township, New Castle Township, Blythe Township, Ryan Township and Gilberton Borough. The Friendship Fire Company is a self supported fire company, with all monies coming from various fundraisers both big and small or state and federal grants, thus leaving little or no burden on the taxpayers. The largest fundrasier of the year is our annual block party hosted by the firehouse.
